➡️BEFORE & AFTER! ➡️ I read recently that due to our current living adjustments, open concept floor plans are being reconsidered. In this recent client renovation, removing one wall gave the kitchen room to breathe, add a more substantial island and allow the kitchen to feel more connected to the main living areas. All of those are boxes I like to check in a kitchen renovation.⁠

I also feel like this setup is ideal for this size home. Not to say that any other floor plan is wrong, bad or otherwise, but I feel like a partially open kitchen offers the right balance. This is a similar setup to what we have now and it feels separate enough but still provides a connection. ⁠

Is it too early to start dreaming of long days spent here? Last fall, I finally turned my attention to putting the finishing touches on the back patio. Swipe to see the before. Most of the furniture is recycled but paired down from our previous back porch and patio. ⁠⁠

I painted the doors Urbane Bronze ( This year’s color of the year. #SWcolorlove) and added sconces between the windows and the doors. My contractor also added the lantern in the center and switched out the basic outdoor lights for fans. ⁠⁠

In the next few weeks, I have a feeling the lighter slipcovers will make a comeback. I absolutely love the high contrast of the original dark grey velvet covers on our sofas, but the lighter covers that feel so calm and definitely spring like. ⁠
