Yesterday marked the first anniversary of moving into our new home. 🙌🏻 Seems rather fitting it was also the day I shared our “finished” bathroom. Sure it had good bones, I had the privilege of picking out the key items going into this bathroom, but the room lacked that one special design element that can transform a room in an instant. On the blog, I share how one fabric, made into custom drapery, and a new paint color completely transformed the look of our main bathroom. Granted, it had a very good start, since it is new construction but I think this is proof that careful consideration of design elements after you move into a new home makes all the difference. ⁠⠀

Fall is a fantastic time to plant a new garden! I partnered with @SouthernLivingPlants to create a sunny, privacy hedge for our backyard. #ad The varieties I selected will provide layers of varied evergreen foliage year-round and seasonal flowers too. With lake ridge views, we didn’t want to obscure the lovely sightlines, but privacy is always welcome in a backyard. Where might you need to add a beautiful hedge? ⠀

Happy First Day of Fall!! And it actually feels like fall here in Alabama, so that’s enough to make you feel excited!! It only seemed fitting to share my favorite fall look from our previous house. This look incorporates my favorite elements for fall styling. Rich hues, vintage art, a mix of wood and copper and of course a little pumpkin thrown in for good measure. Happy to be home from a long week of DIY projects

Happy to be home from a long week of DIY projects at the farm! In the week ahead, I will be working on the finishing touches of styling our home for fall. I’ll likely repeat myself on Friday when I share the Fall Home Tour, but my goal is to make our home feel like fall in the way it’s styled, with textures and hues. It’s a subtle difference from fall decorating but it’s an idea I wanted to play with this season. And so far I love the subtle changes. ⠀
⠀
In this vignette, I brought in a vintage frame and replaced the art with a digital print hung from the paneling. A beautiful bunch of richly textured faux stems from @magnolia placed a @studiomcgee for Threshold vase fill the space between the art and the table. Tucked in a vintage blown glass vase for another pop of the plum color I am working into our existing decor for good measure.⠀

Have a beautiful Sunday! It’s crisp and cool this morning and @readyfreddiedoodle and I are headed to the woods! Hooray for it finally feeling more like fall!!⠀
