  1. Mama mia! That table is gorgeous! It looks better than the expensive one, in my opinion. I also love the chairs you selected but I vote for paint, maybe black, whatever you decide. Best of luck.

Hey Leslie…as always your ideas are awesome. I would paint the chairs. I have no idea what color, but that brown seems to fade into the fabulous table.

      1. Vickie,
You are so right. I just needed some “permission” and encouragement to paint them. They are in impeccable shape.

    2. Deliea, Thank you! What a neat idea to paint them black. Hmmm.

Although the chairs are nice by themselves, they get lost in the luxury of that room. I think that if you want to keep them then you have to paint them.

  3. I know you dear and you will not be happy with plain brown chairs! Even though they are in great shape, paint them so you will love them!

  4. I can’t believe you made that table and it is so beautiful. You are so talented. I would paint the chairs. I love your new name. I would love to change mine. I started out as a food blogger and it doesn’t fit anymore. Good luck with everything!

    1. Thank you Sherry! It was definitely a huge project. But breaking it down it into smaller, thoughtful steps made it manageable. It is a big deal to change your name, probably more so than I even wanted to admit to myself. But my advice would be to do it sooner rather than later. However, you have to be ready and be sure about the new name. If I would of changed it a year ago I don’t think it would be what it is now, and I love it personally. It fits me.

  5. I like the chairs. Could it be the scale of the chairs with the upholstered end cap chairs that are throwing it off? I also wonder if painting them the same color as the buffet will be too much like the color of the upholstery on the other ones. Whatever you decide, I know it’ll look great and I love the rebranding!!

    1. Tara,
I have definitely thought that. But by the same token, if I got taller chairs you would see even less of the table. I don’t think I’d like that either. Still not decided on the color. Part of me wants them to look at least a little cohesive with the host and hostess chairs, but I am considering soft, warm gray too.

  6. Chairs, chairs chairs. There is nothing wrong with the chairs you have….but I think they are not fitting in with the vibe. If you look at the live edge table pics you have…the chairs are all low….and plain. They leave the table as the focal point. I think the chairs you have are great…for another room. Just sell them. Let someone else decide whether to paint them or not.

I agree…the buffet is great….but again…..it competes with the table.

    Good luck!

  7. When I first looked at the photo before reading the article, I immediately loved the paint color and disliked the cane chairs. I don’t think they fit at all. I wouldn’t even paint them, but replace them. However, if the choice is paint or no paint, definitely paint!

    1. Thanks Debra, Clearly, the chairs I have do not reflect the inspiration, but I was having difficulty finding photos with live edge tables in more traditional settings. I do not believe that’s because it can’t work. I love experimenting with my decor and I hope once the room is complete you might be surprised.
