I’m ready

I’ve decided this week I am ready to do the Week in the Life project.  It’s a busy week, but actually that’s pretty normal for the month of May.  School is winding down and lots of volunteering and activities going on.

I’ve already started with my photographing daily activities, although I forgot to take any of Emily getting off to school.  That’s okay though, there’s always tomorrow. 🙂

We had a good weekend.  Saturday morning Tucker (our goldendoodle) woke us all up because the neighbor was having a garage sale, actually it was the annual neighborhood garage sale.  Miles, Emily, Tucker and I went hunting for bargains after breakfast.  I must admit I was just a little surprised they wanted to come, but we had good time combing the neighborhood, looking at people’s junk. We did purchase a much needed cordless phone with answering machine, a dog coat and a necklace for me.  I certainly would have purchased something for them, but most of the “kid” stuff was for babies.

After a run on the trail I came home and got busy scrapbooking in honor of National Scrapbooking Day. I had a project already on my table that I finished and then I did a layout filling 7 of the challenges at Studio Calico.  I know I’ve said before how much I LOVE challenges, but I really do!! They totally get my creative juices flowing. I finally broke into April’s Studio Calico kit, Joyland, to work on this page.

One of the challenges in this layout, was to use a photo from your phone.  I took these with my new most favorite app the Hipstamatic.  (This challenge was issued from Lisa Trusdell, who totally enabled my Hipstamaitc purchase.)  I just love the vintage quality of these photos.  And I spent 15 minutes snapping all kinds of photos as soon as I got it.  Way too fun!!

Here’s the other layout I finished this weekend too.  My grandmother used to make the best Red Velvet Cake.  (She’s not strong enough to stand for long periods to make it anymore.)  And I’m so glad I asked her for the recipe years ago, because her memory is failing her now too.  I’ll be attaching her hand written original recipe to the back of the layout in a pocket for safe keeping.  I love the image of the lady on the GCD Studio’s papers. I think she actually kind of resembles photos I’ve seen of grandmother from long ago.

All patterned papers from the GCD Studios Homespun Collection.  Finally got to use some old 7 Gypsies stickers too!

Today I found out I’ll be taking on a new position at GCD Studios. I’ve been moved up to the Design Team. 🙂 Being a member of the Facebook Team has been pretty cool and will be there through May,  but be sure to look for my posts on the GCD Studios Blog in June!!

Oh and do visit the GCD Studios blog today, to see the layout featured from our Guest Designer for May Jen Jockisch. with the Lydia Collection.  Way too cute!!

Thank you for subscribing to Paper Daisy Designs. Please continue reading on the blog. I appreciate having you as a reader.
