After giving Brynna’s toy box a fun, fresh coat of purple paint, Sherry asked me if I had a nightstand to use in the room.
Turns out I had one in my guest bedroom just the right size and had the potential to be a snazzy little bright spot in the room
Instead of running to the paint store to have a custom color made to match the bedding, I decided to use what I had on hand. My friend found a deal for Nest Bedding so I think we’re going to buy some new bedding soon. The mattress is getting a little old and tatty!!
Yes, you can mix your own colors!! Just use a little basic color theory. You know, red and yellow make orange. Or in this case, hot pink, yellow and a little white make a sweet tangerine color!
The tangerine was looking pretty cute, but I thought it would be fun to add some flowers inspired by the quilt on her bed.
After cutting the flowers I created from modifying several different designs I found in the Silhouette online store, I tested the size out with cardstock.
Initially, I thought I would create a stencil and paint on the flowers, but I had some white vinyl on hand and decided to just cut them out with the Silhouette. Super easy and a sharper look.
Once I transferred the vinyl, burnished it well with the scrapper tool and then I applied a coat of clear wax.
Super cute right?
It always amazes me what a coat of paint and a little flourish can add to, what used to be, a pretty boring piece of furniture.
I loved seeing Brynna standing next to her new bed side table during the reveal. You can see the video here. I just know it will be the perfect place to set her treasures on and in for years to come.
