I was lucky enough to have some the new Special Delivery papers by Heidi Sonboul leftover from my CHA Winter Assignments to use on this layout. What a joy! At first glance, this collection looks decidedly masculine, but as you can see it has a lovely feminine side as well.
Pretty simple layout, really. The design is centralized on the strip of floral paper and the muslin ribbon and creating a layered effect with different patterned papers with mattes and doily rub ons.
And of course, what spring layout wouldn’t be complete without a splattering of paint, flowers and butterflies? I pulled out my trusty punches and accented the flowers with bling.
I love to use mists and ink, but I’m not really into the overall misting anymore. I like to just splatter the inks like this.
I place my background inside a box, dampen a small artist’s brush with water and sink the brush into the mist bottle and then tap the brush over the layout. To get the nice dense white, I use artist’s acrylic white ink instead of mist. It’s very opaque and lovely.
Here’s an close-up of the layout.
If it turns out I need more ink when the layout is complete, like I did in this layout, I’ve learned to cover my photos and major elements with scrap paper and then re-splatter.
Supplies: GCD Studios Special Delivery patterned papers, Rub-ons: Hambly, Chatterbox; Ribbon: Pink Paislee; Letters: American Crafts, Sassafras, Basic Grey; Punches: Ek Success; Stickers: Studio Calico
Thanks for a wonderful three years of scrapping goodness GCD Studios!!
My next adventure? I’m going back to my roots, teaching Paper Crafting at my local and brand spanking new Jo-Ann’s Fabrics and Crafts. If you are local, look for me there.
